Script Research

The script should be in the Courier or Courier New font. It should be size 10. Character names should be capitalized the first time they are mentioned.  Sluglines should be used to indicate scenes – interior or exterior, the location and the time are important. These should be in capital letters. Scene action should be limited to around four or five lines per paragraph. Before dialogue appears the character’s name in capitals, centred on the page. The dialogue itself should be indented to around the middle of the page but not centred. Dialogue must always appear after a character’s name and never on its own. If the character pauses then this should be indicated in parentheses.  (V.O) and (O.S.) should be used when the character can be heard but not seen. (V.O.) Indicated a voiceover and (O.S.) indicates Off Screen. Each Act should have a new page and each new location should have its own slugline.
